Frequently Asked Questions
Below you can find simple answers to questions that we are often asked about our assured policies and concepts.
Answer:
Having been in business since 1989 we have seen many changes throughout those years and some for the worse where quality, price, support and warranty is concerned. With more and more products flooding the United Kingdom that are low quality, cheap and sometimes illegal we decided to create a solution for customers that we supply that assures the highest level obtainable from any communications company. Take a look:
- Unsurpassed quality. We only supply the best most functional products available today.
- Best pricing. We will match or beat any competitor that is offering the same level of quality service and support
- Service levels. Our MD comes from service and we have an incredible focus on the highest levels of service
- Warranty. In all cases where the product is an LRS product we have the best warranty for any paging equipment - 3 years. For other products we offer exceptional warranty periods. Contact us for further details.
- We will be here. We did not achieve 30 years in business by not looking after our customers. Next time you call, no matter what for, we will be here to help no matter what the question or issue.
The Answer:
Simple. Firstly this is the way we have always operated. It's not an option to somehow muddle through looking how to offer the best of everything for our customers. Many companies out there think very differently as if you have used their products by now you will have found them. If you have problems of any kind with our solutions for your company make no mistake that we're right behind you and we will be here to help no matter what.
Our Answer:
Actually over the last few years the really cheap paging systems and cheap two way radios have become more and more available on websites like Amazon and eBay. We have no issues in competing with other great companies, but unfortunately substantially high numbers of very low quality products are in many ways misleading customers. Often price driven, many customers who buy those cheap systems are not aware of the reality of the situation. They all look the same? Right? Below are some of the really bad aspects of the products we have seen out there - and as they say, let the buyer beware...
- Operating frequency. Most products tend to be set to operate on frequencies that are illegal for the country you use the system in. This means that (in the UK) you might be transmitting and interfering (for example) with medical equipment or other emergency reserved frequencies where someone could get injured or killed. Your company will be responsible because YOU are operating the equipment.
- OFCOM. The UK's controller and licensing agency can literally close your operation for transmitting without a license. Even if you have a license, it will be void because the product is operating on an illegal frequency. Be aware that every country has different operating frequencies and products for any other country will most likely be illegal.
- Warranties. Expect to return the faulty equipment to China or similar country at your expense. While some sellers suggest that you can return products to 'a UK address', in reality that is rarely the case. Don't even try and speak to anyone. Expect to replace the system in 6 months or so. Now it's not so cheap.
- Short Range. One way that makers create falsely cheap pricing is by limiting the output of a paging system or two way radio to very low output. Typically 10mw (which is 1/50th of the output of the products we sell) might get a signal just a few metres but make no mistake unless you operate in a field with no buildings then the operation of any 10mw output device will be incredibly short range. There is no alternative to high output with any equipment and that will always cost money.
- Safety approvals. All equipment currently has to meet a number of safety standards, as well as something called CE approval. These standards are there to protect the users of equipment and keep them safe from harm. While nearly every maker of cheap paging systems and two way radios claim that they have the correct approvals, in reality often they do not. In the case of power supplies dangerous non approved equipment can kill and your company will be liable under the corporate manslaughter act operating in the UK and Europe. You could go to prison if someone gets killed and the fines would probably close your company forever. Do not assume that cheap Chinese products have proper approvals. All of the equipment we sell is properly approved and we can supply all documentary evidence.
If you want to be operating equipment always buy legal equipment with great support and warranty preferably with support in the country where you reside.
